China's Answer To Pollution Problems: The Vertical Forest

The two new buildings will have 1,100 trees and 2,500 shrubs and plants, and they're going to look like a scene out of an apocalypse movie.

Vertical Forest

The new buildings will be erected in Nanjing, and they will produce around 132 pounds of oxygen every single day. The plants will absorb large amounts of carbon dioxide. 

The current air quality index in Nanjing is 167, which is unhealthy. It's more than 100 points higher than New York City's air quality index, which is rated as moderate. 

A Look at the Future

Milan, Italy and Losanna, Switzerland will also get vertical forest buildings in the near future. They may only be the first in a world soon to be filled with living buildings like this.
