Girl Power! Women Lead the 2015 Grammy Nominations

The nominations for the 57th GRAMMY AWARDS were announced today, December 5th. The music industry's most important event will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast on CBS.

Women are in the lead this year, with Taylor Swift, Iggy Azalea, and Miranda Lambert all getting 3 or more nominations each. While newbie Sam Smith is up for a whopping 5 awards.

- Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, "Fancy" (with Charli XCX)

- Best New Artist

Taylor Swift, 3 Nominations

Taylor Swift is up for the following awards:

- Song of the Year, "Shake It Off"

- Record of the Year, "Shake it Off"

- Best Pop Solo Performance

Miranda Lambert, 3 Nominations

Miranda Lambert is up for the following awards:

- Country Solo

- Best Country Song, "Automatic" 

- Best Country Album, Platinum

Sam Smith, 5 Nominations

Sam Smith is up for the following awards:

- Song of the Year, "Stay With Me"

- Best New Artist

- Record of the Year, "Stay With Me (Darkchild Version)"

- Best Pop Vocal Album, In the Lonely Hour

Best Pop Solo Performance

Pharrell, 3 Nominations

Pharrell Williams is up for the following awards:

- Best Music Video, "Happy"

- Best Urban Contemporary Album, Girl

- Best Pop Solo Performance
