Say 'I Love You' With A Cockroach For Valentine’s Day This Year
Name a Roach
The name-a-roach program began in 2011, and it's no joke. The program actually helps the Bronx zoo in New York City raise money. It only costs $10 to have a roach named after yourself. But for Valentine's Day, the zoo is doing something even more special.
Make a donation bigger than $10, and you can have a Madagascar hissing cockroach named after your special someone. And that's not all. You'll also get your choice of chocolates or a plushy Madagascar cockroach to give to your sweetie.
Oh, and don't worry that the museum may run out of roaches -- in case you have more than one special someone in your life. They've got thousands of hissing cockroaches in the exhibit, so you're totally covered. And you'll be doing something good, even if you decide to have roaches named after all your exes. The money goes to the Wildlife Conservation Society.
Do you love (or hate) someone enough to name a hissing cockroach after them? Share this story for everyone you know who might need a great Valentine's Day gift!
