8 Hilariously Quirky Quotes from Big Bang Theory's Sheldon Cooper

RealClear Staff

Dr. Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons, is the most memorable and quirky character on the CBS show 'The Big Bang Theory.'

With superior intellect, and a lack of social skills, Sheldon steals every episode with his odd behavior and hilarious one-liners.

Watch below for Dr. Cooper's top quotes from the past 7 seasons!

8. "Got your back, Jack, bitches be crazy!"

Sheldon, in an attempt to avoid meeting his girlfriend, Amy Farrah Fowler's mother, tries to change the address of his building. He explained it to the mailman, who responded with the sympathetic words, "Got your back, Jack. Bitches be crazy."

7. Sheldon's Laugh(s)

Like everything else related to Sheldon Cooper, is laugh is one-of-a-kind and very adorkable. Due to his inability to recognize many social cues, he is still learning when to use it (and when not to).

6. "That's my spot."

Sheldon's spot is a place on Sheldon and Leonard's couch which Sheldon has claimed as his own. He has placed this location "in a state of eternal dibs", and has little tolerance for anybody who tries to sit there.

5. "I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested."

Frequently throughout  the series Sheldon maintains that he isn't crazy, because his Mother, Mary, had him tested as a child.

4. "Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock."

Rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock is an expansion of the classic selection method game rock-paper-scissors. Obviously being the scientist and geek he is, Sheldon prefers the more complex method.

3. "Soft Kitty" Song

"Soft Kitty" is a song that Sheldon's mother used to sing to Sheldon when he was sick as a child. Today, he still requests his caretaker to sing this song to him whenever he is sick, and sometimes he will even sing it to others.

2. *Knock, knock, knock* "Penny!"

Sheldon Cooper has a door knock ritual when alerting someone to his presence outside their door. Due to his OCD tendencies, he must finish his 3 knocks, even if the person he's alerting opens the door before he is finished.

"Bazinga" is used by Sheldon Cooper to accompany his jokes and pranks. Sheldon's ability to surprise people with jokes is rooted by his apparent inability to recognize sarcasm.
