The Center Of The Universe Is Actually In Wallace, Idaho

Just look for the manhole at the corner of Bank and Sixth Streets, and you'll find it.

Welcome to Wallace

There are less than 800 people currently living in Wallace, Idaho, but it's here where you'll find the center of the universe. The mayor declared it to be so in 2004.

"I, Ron Garitone, Mayor of Wallace, Idaho, and all of its subjects, and being of sound body and mind, do hereby solemnly declare and proclaim Wallace to be the Center of the Universe."

Why Not?

The official proclamation is backed up with simple logic. Why is Wallace the center of the universe? The official answer is "why not?" Also, "prove it isn't."

Wallace is also known as the Silver Capital of the World, another self-proclaimed title. The town is home to multiple mining companies that have extracted more than 1.2 billion ounces of silver from beneath Wallace. Wallace is also inside 600 miles of national forest, so it isn't always easy to find. After is the center of the whole universe.
