NRA Wins Victory, As Congress Reverses Obama’s Social Security Gun Grab

Out in Fairfax, Virginia, the National Rifle Association Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) took top points when Congress agreed to assess (and probably dismiss) a final rule burgeoned by Obama’s administration—it would strip away the Second Amendment made for Americans!

“Congress’s decision to review the Obama administration’s back-door gun grab is a significant step forward in protecting a fundamental, constitutional right for law-abiding gun owners,” NRA-ILA Executive Director Chris W. Cox said. “The NRA has been fighting this unconstitutional-government overreach since it was first discussed, and we look forward to swift, Congressional action.”

In 2016, the Social Security Administration solidified a proposal to ban specific representative-payee-using people from owning guns. This poorly planned implementation hit the weakest of Americans and kept them from their right to keep and bear arms—without due process!

The NRA instantly jumped on this and fought the Obama administration’s attempts when the proposal was first released back in the summer of 2015. The NRA has gone to the fore at every turn to prevent social-security recipients’ constitutional rights being taken away without due process of law.

To be exact, in order to accurately assess Obama’s unconstitutional ban, Congress will be examining it all under the Congressional Review Act (CRA). The act enables Congress to do away with any implementations an exiting administration created in its last, six months of power—Team Obama’s effort falls within that window—and the entirety of the House’s review process is anticipated to be completed by the week of January 29th.

The impending extinction of this erroneous government attempt signifies the apex of the NRA’s restless efforts in honor of its brethren and law-abiding firearms owners.

“This is a new era for freedom-loving Americans, and the NRA is excited to begin work with our pro-Second Amendment president and Congress to ensure that law-abiding Americans’ constitutional rights are respected,” Cox added.

The NRA’s grateful for the following Congressmen’s efforts: Sam Johnson (R-TX), Ralph Abraham (R-LA) and Steve Scalise (R-LA). They also send special thanks to Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for their take-charge actions on this matter.
