Texas Senate Voted To Ban “Sanctuary Cities”—Passed: 20-11
In Texas, the Senate voted 20-11 in terms of banning “sanctuary cities” in cowboy country. For now, Dallas, Houston and Austin retain the aforementioned title—no adherence to immigration officials. Those cities currently do not prosecute folks who violate immigration laws either.

Back in January 2017, Texas Governor Greg Abbott promised to rid the state of “sanctuary cities.” This situation seems a proverbial cake walk. Immigration laws are beset upon places for legitimate reasons and are enforced as other laws are. It’s poor form and bad policy to be choosy in terms of ignoring and/or adhering to certain laws.
